SQA Manager's must haves?

Five most important characteristics that a software quality assurance manager must have:

(1) Quality consciousness-

The software quality assurance manager (SQA manager) should always be quality conscious to produce higher quality products. Strong desire for quality will always drive him through the path of quality improvement.

(2) Communication with analysis and development team-

An SQA manager must have excellent communication skills to interact with analysis and development team, to deliver to them necessary information related to the quality of software, thus ensuring the improvement of software development and analytical processes.

(3) Meeting deadlines-

A SQA manager must always meet deadlines set by senior management, while also maintaining the quality of the software under consideration because both achieving high quality and meeting deadlines are important to ensure customers’ happiness and satisfaction.

4) Establish and enforce SQA methodologies, processes and Testing Strategies-

He should enforce the established SQA methodologies, processes and testing strategies in for each phase of software development life cycle to ensure successful running of software with high quality. The established methodologies, processes and strategies should also be improved along the way.

5) Say ‘No’ when Quality is insufficient-
He should be able to say ‘No’ when the software quality does not achieve the desired quality standards, because it will further hinder better quality in future if insufficient quality is accepted from time to time.
